Overview
Pcloudy has launched a new Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature to enable testers to perform OCR Testing. This new feature will help testers convert different types of documents, PDFs, Images, etc into editable and searchable data. The use cases for this new feature are endless. You can test a healthcare app and check for digitizing patient records or a retail app for scanning receipts, or a travel app to read passport information, etc. The OCR testing will help us perform various functionalities within the app and help us optimize and enhance the user experience.
Pre-requisites:
- Valid Pcloudy Account
- Instrument the OCR Capturing App
Steps:
- Login to the platform
- Click on the My Data section, click on the Upload File button
- Click on Browse, upload the OCR capturing application.
- Once the application is uploaded the user will need to instrument the app to enable Image Injection.
- Click on Start and connect to any available Android devices.
- Click on Install button under the Quick Actions tab. Simply select the OCR capturing app and click on install.
- The OCR capturing application will automatically start on the device. Now, you can select Image Injection under the All Actions tab and select the Image you want to upload and click Inject.
- A notification will appear on the device to allow capturing. click OK on the device screen.
- You will see the text captured and the image displayed on the screen.
